Transgender's Daily Issues

It is true that transgender Americans came a long way from being open about their sex and sexuality in the last ten years in America with the rise of the LGBTQ+ community. On paper transgender Americans seem to have rules that can protect them and protect the sexuality they choose, but is that true?

According to lgbtqfunders, transgender people continue to face discrimination, a high level of violence, and poor health outcomes. Trans people tend to face high rates of HIV infection, lack of primary care, and high rates of attempted suicide.  When it comes to economics, trans people face people discriminations and that includes high rates of poverty and unemployment. Trans people also face discrimination in education and homelessness. When it comes to safety, trans people and especially Black transgender tend to experience high levels of physical violence, especially those who participate in sex work or other informal economics that can reach even murder.

Transgender people are sick of being discriminated against and should have the right to present themselves however they want in the land of the free. According to usnews in their article "Isolated and Left Behind," talks about a trans called Mahina had to sleep under a bridge because she had nowhere else to go. She would wake up to find two men staring at her. The next day she woke up to a man offering her $15 to strip dance. She has been waiting for someone to reply to her resume.

According to glaad, compared to less than 2% of all Americans, 41% of trans people surveyed by the National Transgender Discrimination Survey have attempted suicide. Those are worrying numbers and can point that there is clearly a problem that should be solved. Transgenders must have the right to participate in all forms of activities without being discriminated against in any form. It's time to bring the spotlight to transgender issues and treat them equally.
